It was 10 years ago on Friday that Tim Tebow won the Heisman Trophy.

Time flies.

Tebow was the first sophomore to ever win the coveted award after he balled out for the Gators both through the air and on the ground throughout the 2007 college football season.

The former Gator won the Heisman Trophy after throwing for 3,286 yards and 32 touchdowns. He also rushed for 895 yards and scored an additional 23 TDs on the ground.

At the time, Tebow seemed like a once-in-a-century type of player. It’s safe to say he’s stood the test of time as one of college football’s all-time greats.

Tebow also helped the Gators win national championships in 2006 and 2008.

While the ’07 team wasn’t quite as good as the teams that came before and after, it was undoubtedly Tebow’s most impressive year, individually.

In addition to winning the Heisman that year, Tebow also secured the Maxwell Award and the Davey O’Brien Award. He was the Associated Press National Player of the Year, as well.
