When Florida parted ways with coach Jim McElwain during the 2017 season, the Gators eventually settled on Dan Mullen as their new head coach.

Mullen brought in his new coaching staff, meaning several former Florida assistants have had to find new jobs this offseason.

On Tuesday afternoon, USA TODAY reporter Dan Wolken tweeted that former Florida LB and RB coach Tim Skipper would be heading west to join UNLV as the Rebels’ defensive coordinator:

Skipper served as an assistant on Florida’s staff from 2015 to 2017. He also has stops at Fresno State and Colorado State on his resume.

This will be the first time he’s been a defensive coordinator, and he’ll work with UNLV head coach Tony Sanchez.
