Former Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze is on the redemption tour.

Months after being relieved of his job in Oxford, Freeze has kept out of the spotlight for the entire fall more or less. He’s been mostly silent on social media and only given an interview or two, the most public of which was a softball interview with Clay Travis on his national radio show, Outkick The Show.

Speaking to the public for the first time since leaving Ole Miss, Freeze chose a chapel service at Liberty University to deliver his message. While he once again refuses to go into much detail regarding his actions, or the NCAA investigation that helped shed light on his indiscretions, the former Ole Miss coach tiptoed around the subject during this public forum.

“All the walls came crumbling down when what I thought was a private sin that I had struggled with, confessed to my wife to two of my friends in 2016, that I thought I was dealing with and was in my rear-view mirror, when it became public knowledge,” Freeze said according to George Schroeder of USA TODAY Sports.

Freeze then asked for forgiveness during his speech. Considering he is now looking for work once again in college football, the timing of his appearance is somewhat ironic.

“I had to say to people that I loved, ‘I am sorry, please forgive me,’ ” Freeze said. “And today is really the first day I can tell the faith family, ‘I am sorry, please forgive me.’ ”

Given his lack of transparency for years at Ole Miss, do you believe Freeze is being genuine here?
