Even though K Andy Pappanastos wasn’t exactly the most popular player on Alabama’s roster during the National Championship Game, the fact that he graduated leaves the Crimson Tide with a hole to fill.

Instead of going with an inexperienced young kicker, coach Nick Saban set out to find someone with some FBS experience.

On Monday, he did just that, as Temple graduate-transfer K Austin Jones announced he was going to head to Tuscaloosa to play in 2018, as you can see in his Instagram post below:

Lingering effects from an ACL surgery prevented Jones from being effective in 2017, but he has made 50 of his 67 attempts for Temple the past four years.

Now, he’ll have to show he’s back at full strength in 2018 if he wants to land the starting job for the Crimson Tide.
