The Alabama Crimson Tide weren’t having a great National Signing Day on Wednesday, despite landing a couple of big-name players.

However, they got some great news on Wednesday afternoon, when 4-star WR Jaylen Waddle chose the Tide over Texas A&M, TCU, Oregon and Florida State.

Waddle announced his decision at a signing ceremony at his high school, choosing the Alabama hat from the crowded table in front of him.

According to the 247Sports composite, Waddle is the No. 5 receiver in the class of 2018 and the No. 3 overall recruit from the state of Texas.

Before Waddle’s commitment, the Tide had the No. 2 2018 class in the SEC and the No. 9 class nationally, per 247Sports. The national ranking will likely get a bit better after Waddle’s decision to head to Tuscaloosa.
