OOPS: Lorenzo Carter selection announced with wrong school

File this one under “you had one job.”
Former New York Giants DE Chris Canty was on hand in Dallas to announce the team’s pick at No. 66. The Giants went with Georgia LB Lorenzo Carter. Canty, however, announced Carter as from “Clemson.” Maybe he had recently read about Dabo Swinney wanting to renew the Tigers-Bulldogs series.
Canty acknowledged his mistake when he returned to announce the Gaints’ No. 69 selection, saying he was given a mulligan.
It’s a shame for Carter that his special moment was botched. Hopefully he gets an apology from Canty.
