Kirby Smart will now earn twice as much money per day than he did annually when his coaching career began

More money, more problems? That’s probably not something Kirby Smart buys into these days.
If you missed the news on Thursday, Georgia announced it has locked up its coach to a new seven-year deal worth $49 million in base salary. That figure averages out to be just over $19,000 a day the Bulldog coach is set to make over the next seven years.
That’s a ton of money but particularly when you consider how much money Smart made when he landed his initial job as a position coach at Valdosta State. Smart, who served as the defensive backs coach at the school back in 2000, made $8,000 annually to coach the team’s secondary.
