This spring was supposed to be an all-out battle for the Alabama starting quarterback spot, with Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa duking it out for the QB1 position.

However, Hurts struggled for most of the spring and Tagovailoa didn’t see much action after injuring his throwing hand.

Now, though, it appears the rising sophomore is feeling much better, as he was seen throwing the ball again at The QB Retreat in California. Yes, it is only one throw in the video below, but it’s still a good sign for the Crimson Tide:

Tagovailoa’s motion looks smooth and pain-free, and it appears he’ll be fully ready to go when summer practices kick off in a couple of months.

He still has some work to do before he earns the starting job, but perhaps this summer, we’ll get the battle we expected to have between Hurts and Tagovailoa this spring.
