The Alabama Crimson Tide face the unenviable task of replacing star WR Calvin Ridley heading into the 2018 season, but there’s plenty of talent in the receiving corps.

One of those players is sophomore Jerry Jeudy, who had 14 catches for 264 yards and two touchdowns as a freshman in 2017.

As Jeudy prepares for a bigger role this fall, coach Nick Saban is impressed with what he’s been able to do in fall camp (via 247Sports):

“He’s had an outstanding fall camp,” Saban said. “I think the biggest thing with Jerry is going out there every day and not getting frustrated.

“When you play receiver, you run 70 plays in a game and you run fast and you try to get open every one of those plays. They won’t all be pass plays, but whether it’s blocking or whatever it is and maybe you get the ball on a big day five times, and sometimes you’re open and you think you should get the ball. But it’s being able to understand that you’re creating value for yourself every time you beat the DB. He knows he got beat whether you got the ball or not.

“And to build on that and play fast and be consistent, I think, is the thing that he’s improved dramatically on. It’s just a matter of maturity and understanding. He’s had a great fall camp, I think, because of it and been very productive.”

Jeudy has the talent to be the top receiver in Tuscaloosa this fall, so getting off to a fast start will be important.

Fortunately for him, he has the support of his head coach, so the sky’s the limit for the talented sophomore.
