Nick Saban reveals gameday plans for DC Tosh Lupoi, ILB coach Pete Golding

Since new Alabama DC Tosh Lupoi is a first-time defensive play caller, coach Nick Saban hired a veteran ILB coach in Pete Golding to help assist him.

Now, the question becomes how that tandem handles gameday situations, and Saban discussed that during his press conference on Wednesday.

According to Saban, Lupoi will remain on the sidelines during games, while Golding heads upstairs to the press box for a bird’s-eye view:

Tosh Lupoi will be on the field as defensive coordinator. ILB coach Pete Golding will be in the press box.

Lupoi has a revamped defense to work with this fall, particularly in the secondary. However, he and Golding have been working hard this offseason to continue Alabama’s run of defensive dominance.

Will this arrangement last all year? We’ll have to wait and see how it plays out this fall.
