Back in June of 2015, 4-star QB Bailey Hockman committed to Georgia under then-head coach Mark Richt. However, shortly after Richt was fired, Hockman reopened his recruitment.

Eventually, he ended up at Florida State, but now he’s leaving the Seminoles’ program after losing the competition for the starting job to Deondre Francois.

According to reporter Curt Weiler, Hockman wasn’t at Florida State’s Friday morning practice, and school officials confirmed his decision to transfer:

Hockman didn’t play at all last season, taking a redshirt as James Blackman took over following Francois’s injury.

It’s unlikely Hockman will end up back at Georgia, as the Dawgs have Jake Fromm and Justin Fields. However, he could potentially follow Richt to Miami, which would be an interesting development for the Seminoles.
