The Philadelphia Eagles needed some help at receiver when they decided to place starting wideout Mike Wallace on injured reserve, so they turned to a former player of theirs for help.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles have officially signed Jordan Matthews for his second stint in Philadelphia.

Matthews was the Eagles’ second-round pick in 2014 and played in Philadelphia for three years, recording 225 receptions for 2,673 yards and 19 touchdowns. He was traded to the Buffalo Bills last year and played in 10 games, recording just 25 receptions and one touchdown.

Matthews was picked up by the New England Patriots prior to this season, but sustained a hamstring injury and was subsequently released.

The former Vanderbilt star was one of the best players in school history. From 2010-2013, Matthews recorded 262 receptions for 3,759 yards, which are both SEC and school records. His 24 career touchdowns are also the best in school history.
