Vanderbilt in well on the way to pulling the upset of the day in the SEC as the Commodores are heading into halftime up 21-13 on Florida.

Despite that score, the Gators actually do have some momentum heading into the midway break, as the score was 21-3 at one point but Dan Mullen’s team came out with a passion after getting down big and now face a realistic comeback in the second half.

However, the biggest story from this game heading into the break doesn’t have anything to do with the action on the field but the exchange between coaches prior to halftime. Following a targeting hit by a Florida player against a Vanderbilt player that could have resulted in a serious injury, Derek Mason got into it with Mullen and Florida defensive coordinator Todd Grantham. The coaches had to be held back from one another and both benches were cleared for a few minutes following the exchange.

Check out what Mullen had to say to ESPN sideline reporter Tom Luginbill heading into the break. It goes without saying that the Florida coach was not happy following the incident.
