Though Alabama RB Derrick Henry left for the NFL the year before QB Jalen Hurts arrived in Tuscaloosa, he’s followed the talented dual-threat quarterback’s career closely.

It’s no surprise that Henry was thrilled to see Hurts lead a come-from-behind victory in the SEC title game on Saturday, and this week, he offered his praise to Hurts.

As you can see in the video below, Henry gushes about Hurts’s toughness and perseverance in the face of adversity:

“He’s a great player,” he said. “He’s a great person. He represents what Alabama is. Times are going to be tough, times are going to be hard, but you keep fighting. … I’m just proud of him and I hope he’s successful.”

Though starting QB Tua Tagovailoa may join the Heisman fraternity alongside Henry, Hurts has played a key role for the Tide this year and the past two years, and Henry clearly appreciates that.
