This year’s national championship game rubber match between No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Clemson figures to be another classic, but it’s not as hot a ticket as one might expect.

The Associated Press reported that ticket prices for Monday’s title clash are as low as $135 on the secondary market, making them cheaper than last month’s SEC Championship Game and both College Football Playoff semifinals. They’re also worth just more than a quarter of the $475 face value price.

The report pointed to several factors that might explain the steep plummet in ticket prices. Most important among them are the far-flung game location of Santa Clara, California, relative to the participating schools and a general fatigue with the Crimson Tide and Tigers, who met in the national championship game following both the 2015 and 2016 seasons and also faced off in a CFP semifinal last year.

Still, many fans will attend the game, and those from Clemson are currently expected to outnumber whatever Alabama contingent makes the trip to the West Coast over the next few days.
