Injury list coming to college football? NCAA committee will reportedly propose player-availability reports

With so many states starting to legalize sports gambling, the NCAA is racing to stay ahead of potential corruption (though some may say they aren’t doing a very good job in a lot of areas).
With gambling here to stay, the NCAA Gambling Working Group is taking steps to ensure there is no corruption.
Per a report from Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports, the NCAA’s group will propose an injury list for the 2019 season:
Later this month, the working group will propose a pilot program that would have coaches list players as “available,” “possible” or “unavailable” for that week’s game without mentioning a specific body part or injury.
If adopted, the proposal would be in place for the 2019 season. It would be instituted because of concerns regarding the integrity of college games in this new era of state-sponsored sports gambling.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens with this list if it goes through and how seriously coaches treat it.
If there are no penalties for lying on the report, then it’s likely nothing will change this fall.
