Former Tennessee PG Jordan Bone was the No. 57 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, going to the Detroit Pistons.

Now, he’s in Las Vegas for the NBA Summer League and is faring well. In a recent 96-81 win over the Philadelphia 76ers, Bone played 19 minutes, scoring 13 points and dishing out two assists.

As you can see in the video below, Pistons assistant D.J. Bakker (the team’s Summer League coach) has been impressed with Bone’s efforts so far:

“He knows how to play,” Bakker said. “He has a calmness about him, that (helps) the guys get organized very well. That’s a very high pressure, very physical team (the Sixers) and Jordan comes in there and plays with pace, doesn’t get rattled, gets the team organized.

“His leadership, with his solid play — guys know how he plays. When he comes in, there’s a calmness about the team.”

Bone also weighed in on his performance thus far, saying he’s happy with how he’s adjusting to the speed of the NBA game:

“I adjusted to the pace a little better,” Bone said after a win over the Sixers. “My breathing was definitely a little better. Starting to get comfortable with the guys out there. Trying to figure out what my teammates do, where my teammates are on the court. It was definitely a much more comfortable day, but I’m still rusty. I can’t wait to get into tip-top shape.”

Bone seems to be doing well, so there will likely be a spot for him somewhere in the NBA once Summer League is over.
