Last year, there were a few big-time calls made in big-time games that altered the outcomes of those games (just ask LSU fans).

Now, the SEC is working to make the officiating process smoother, better and more transparent. As part of those efforts, commissioner Greg Sankey announced at SEC Media Days on Monday that there is a new website, SECSports.com/officiating, that will help explain rules and big decisions.

Shortly before Sankey’s announcement, a new Twitter account, @SECOfficiating, sent out its first tweet:

We’ll see how this goes during the season, but for now, it’s nice to see the SEC making an effort to give fans a look at the officiating process.
