Maryland and its high-flying offense has looked more like the team’s mascot — a terrapin — on Saturday against Temple.

In the first half, the Terps managed a measly two points, and that was only gifted to them by an embarrassing botched punt from the Owls.

In the second quarter, though, the Terps attempted a fake field goal and, boy, was it ever a disaster. I mean, just look at this thing:

There are so many questions to ask about this play, starting with, simply… why? Also, did this ever work in practice? Did something go horribly wrong?

This can’t have been what Mike Locksley and his coaching staff had in mind for this play, can it?
