The LSU Tigers face the unenviable task of replacing star QB Joe Burrow entering the 2020 season.

That task will likely fall to Myles Brennan, who will be entering his redshirt junior season. He’ll be in charge of an LSU offense that returns Ja’Marr Chase.

During a radio appearance on ESPN Radio 104.5 Baton Rouge, coach Ed Orgeron said he believes in Brennan moving into this season:

“He has sat patiently… him and his family,” Orgeron said. “They have believed in LSU. I told them we believe in Myles. Now it’s his time. We believe that he is very talented but there are some things that he has to get better at but Joe had to get better his first year too and continue to grow. Like I said before, all we want is the best Myles Brennan and that’s going to be good enough for us.”

Obviously, asking Brennan to replicate Burrow’s season is a bit ridiculous, but Brennan will need to have a solid 2020 campaign to hold the job.

We’ll see how he fares starting this spring.
