This time last year, Patrick Queen may not have been a household name but after an incredible season on the field in 2019, the junior linebacker has just become the latest first-round selection from LSU after he was selected with the 27th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

Not bad for a player that was tasked with the unenviable task of replacing All-American Devin White heading into the 2019 season.

Queen was LSU’s most consistent and disruptive linebacker last season as he registered 85 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, three sacks, an interception and a forced fumble for the Tigers.

During LSU’s biggest games of the season, Queen stepped up his game as he registered 29 combined tackles against Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma and Clemson last season.

The junior only started one season for the Tigers and left school early following a great finish to the season, so some NFL teams may knock him for a lack of starting college experience but if Queen manages to carry over the momentum he gained to close out 2019, the former Tiger defender could prove to be one of the steals of the draft in the years to come.
