On Thursday night, Joe Burrow went from Bayou Bengal to Cincinnati Bengal.

After Cincinnati used its No. 1 pick to draft the Heisman Trophy winner, the Bengals received a message from Burrow’s former head coach, Ed Orgeron. Coach O tells the Bengals that they will be proud of the way Burrow in represents the organization. In typical Orgeron fashion, the message ends with “Geaux Tigahs.”

The brief clip was shared on the Bengals’ official Twitter account. Check it out below:

Burrow became the 10th SEC quarterback taken No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft and the 1st since Cam Newton in 2011. He joins Newton in winning a national title, the Heisman Trophy and going No. 1 in the draft in the same year. Burrow also became the 1st SEC QB taken in the 1st round since Johnny Manziel in 2014.

Burrow grew up in Athens, Ohio, and had long been linked to the nearby Bengals since midway through the 2019 season. They reportedly told him he was their pick before Thursday’s first round.
