The Georgia Bulldogs lost start RB D’Andre Swift to the 2020 NFL Draft this offseason, as he was a second-round pick by the Detroit Lions.
They also lost talented backup Brian Herrien, so the Dawgs’ backfield will look a lot different this season, with Zamir White and James Cook slated to get most of the work.
On Wednesday after practice, talented DL Jordan Davis said he doesn’t think there’s any drop-off between last year’s running backs and this year’s:
“There is no drop-off, no drop-off. They bring such unique, multiple things to the game. It is really fun to watch and really fun to play with them. [Zamir White and James Cook] are both fast—so it’s giving me a hard time in practice trying to catch up with them at practice. I love them boys both.”
Will White and Cook both have big seasons like Swift and Herrien? Davis is confident, and he sees them in practice every day.
We’ll see how they start the year on Sept. 26 at Arkansas.
