Sam Pittman says Arkansas will take ‘business approach’ to facing former head coach Chad Morris

There will be a face familiar to many Arkansas players on the opposing sideline at Jordan-Hare Stadium this Saturday. Across from the Razorbacks will be Chad Morris, their former head coach who is now the offensive coordinator at Auburn.
Morris spent the past two seasons with the Razorbacks, but they struggled during his tenure, going 4-18. That included going 0-14 in SEC play, as they won only two non-conference games in each of his two seasons.
Despite going up against Morris for the first time since he was fired, current Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman said that won’t be brought up to the team during this week’s preparations for the game.
“We won’t mention that Chad Morris was the coach here. They know it,” Pittman said during his Monday press conference. “Some of them probably loved him, some of them probably didn’t, just like any coach. We’re going to take a business approach to it and go out there and do our best.”
This season, the Razorbacks already have more SEC wins than they did under Morris. On Saturday, Arkansas notched its first win with Pittman at the helm, as it went on the road and defeated Mississippi State 21-14. It was the Razorbacks’ first win over a conference opponent since a victory over Ole Miss on Oct. 28, 2017, when Bret Bielema was still the head coach.
Auburn may be coming off a loss to Georgia, but it will still pose a great challenge for Arkansas. The Tigers are the No. 13-ranked team in the country and will be seeking a bounce-back victory.
Arkansas and Auburn are set to kick off on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
