The Miami Dolphins took former Alabama WR Jaylen Waddle with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Now, Waddle will reunite with Tua Tagovailoa — his former college quarterback. And, ESPN’s Todd McShay thinks the fit is a match made in heaven.

Speaking on Tuesday’s episode of NFL Live, McShay said the Dolphins’ offense is a good fit for what Waddle and Tagovailoa like to do (via 247Sports):

“We have Tua Tagovailoa getting reunited with Jaylen Waddle,” McShay said. “Some people thought it could be DeVonta Smith, who is coming off of the Heisman season, one of the best seasons in the history of college football for the wide receiver position, but Waddle is just more explosive.

“I think he’s going to be a perfect fit for Tua (Tagovailoa). The RPO game they like to run and what they like to do, get him the ball in his hands, whether it’s vertically or in that short game and let him go create. He’s dynamic. I think he’s the most dynamic play-maker in this entire class when it comes to receivers with the ball in their hands.”

Many analysts think the Dolphins had a great draft. Now, the pressure will be on Tagovailoa to prove he’s the quarterback of the future in Miami.

Having Waddle around should help him accomplish that goal.
