As the Missouri athletics department continues to take on a new look under new Athletics Director Desiree Reed-Francois, the Tigers are reportedly losing a member of the leadership team.

Ryan Alpert confirmed to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Sunday that he would leave Mizzou as deputy AD, and become Tennessee’s new deputy AD and chief operating officer.

Alpert had been with Mizzou on a second stint for just more than a year, after he originally left Mizzou to work at Florida Atlantic from 2018-20, his bio said. His primary job description covers developing new revenue streams to the athletics programs, along with oversight of the Tiger Scholarship Fund, ticketing and marketing staffs, and serves as the department’s liaison to Mizzou Sports Properties. He also serves as the sport administrator for Mizzou men’s and women’s basketball.

At Tennessee, he’ll work under Danny White.

“Ryan is truly one of the rising stars in our profession,” White said. “I couldn’t be more excited to add him to a talented, competitive administrative team that is committed to building a bold and bright future for Tennessee Athletics. I’m thrilled to welcome the Alpert family to Rocky Top.”

These two stops aren’t his only SEC experience. Alpert also has an undergraduate degree from South Carolina, where he received a cum laude distinction. He received a master’s degree from the University of Memphis with a leadership studies concentration.
