Ed Orgeron is aware of revenge games, and how they can have an impact on a team in the next meeting.

He gets that exact scenario this week when the Tigers travel to Starkville to meet Mississippi State. The Bulldogs, of course, won last year 44-34 in Tiger Stadium. The Bulldogs rolled up 632 passing yards in the game, to just 9 rushing yards as the Air Raid offense had a huge day.

On ESPN Baton Rouge’s “Off the Bench” on Tuesday morning, Orgeron explained how the Tigers will treat the 2020 memories this week.

“I think when you look at revenge and stuff like that, I think it’s the wrong way, sometimes that can work against you,” Orgeron said. “I do believe that our antennas are up, our respect for them is up. We know the damage that they did to us last year and we couldn’t stop ‘em. So I think that raised the level of awareness that we’ve got to get better. We know what we’ve got to stop, we know what they can do to us. So the level of respect is a lot higher this year going into the game, I think that’s going to help us.”

The teams will meet for a noon ET kickoff on ESPN.
