Week 8 of the college football season is in the rearview mirror and November is just around the corner, which means Heisman Trophy talk is heating up.

Former Baylor star quarterback Robert Griffin III, who won the Hesiman in 2011, has been keeping tabs on the race all season.

Late Saturday night after the dust had settled on the Week 8 action, Griffin tweeted his top contenders to win the award in December.

Leading the way was Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral, while Alabama signal caller Bryce Young was 5th on the list.

Also included in the top 5 were Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett at No. 2, SMU QB Tanner Mordecai at No. 3, and Michigan State running back Kenneth Walker III at No. 4.

Corral has been the key to the Rebels 6-1 start to the season. The junior from Ventura, California, has completed 140-of-207 passes for 1,913 yards, 15 touchdowns, and just 1 interception, while adding 474 yards an 9 TDs on the ground.

Young, meanwhile, has connected on 187-of-267 passes for 2,453 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions.

Ole Miss will be back in action next Saturday at Auburn, while Alabama will have its bye week.
