College football media, fans react to Georgia's blowout win over Tennessee
The Georgia Bulldogs are the only elite team in college football for 2021, and there’s a sizable gap (right now) between the Dawgs and Alabama Crimson Tide.
Heading into Saturday’s game against Tennessee, fans and media talking heads were chirping about Tennessee’s ability on offense vs. Georgia defense. Yes, Tennessee has had a big year on offense under Josh Heupel, but it hadn’t faced any defense like it did Saturday.
Georgia blew out the Volunteers 41-17 in Neyland Stadium. QB Stetson Bennett threw for 213 yards and had 2 total touchdowns. Running back James Cook rushed for more than 100 yards and scored 3 total touchdowns.
The Bulldogs are college football’s python that sucks the life out of offenses, and it happened again against the Vols.
Georgia held Tennessee to 17 points points and less than 100 rushing yards.
Following the win over the Vols, social media was buzzing about Georgia’s dominance.

I’m not really mad at the team or coaching staff. Georgia is unbelievably good. However, let me talk to all those Tennessee fans that sold their tickets to Georgia fans. I want to kindly (not so kindly) tell you to never come or buy any tickets to Neyland again.

Georgia’s consistent dominance continues to impress. It continues to be them & rest. They will have to be off their game by good bit to be beaten I feel. Their dominance more to do with their might more than opponent. They have made good, average & bad teams all look worse

this georgia team just feels inevitable good lord

Time to dispatch another opponent who was considered a trendy upset pick. Now they’ll be written off as not that good an opponent and Georgia hasn’t played anyone and it doesn’t count because Georgia has 5 stars and kirby doesn’t develop and what other excuses will we hear?

Georgia gives you that first quarter, quarter and a half, where you feel like you’re a good football team. Then they step on your throat so bad you lose 2-3 times after you play them. Sorry Tennessee not sorry

Georgia very impressive today. You can’t really say anything otherwise at this point. They got a decent qb, tight ends, very good running game, and an elite defense all around. #georgia #Bulldogs

Dangerous thing about Georgia… they get better as the game goes on. That’s the sign of an elite team.

To beat this defense an offense has to go north/south not east/west. Kirby & Lanning will let ya have those plays. Georgia has elite speed sideline 2 sideline.
