The hits keep coming for the Texas football program.

After wrapping up a disappointing 5-7 season under 1st-year head coach Steve Sarkisian, a Longhorns assistant coach and his girlfriend are being sued after the monkey they keep at a pet bit a child during a Halloween incident.

Jeff Banks, who is Texas’ assistant head coach, tight ends coach, and special teams coordinator, and Danielle Thomas have been named in the lawsuit.

The alleged victim, who is a minor, was attending a haunted house event at Thomas’ house and had attempted to given what they were told was a trained monkey a high five. The child was instead bitten on the hand and sustained injuries that required medical attention.

Thomas, a former exotic dancer who used the monkey in her shows, has said in response to the lawsuit that the child who sustained the bite had ventured into an area of her property that they did not have permission to access.

For Banks, this was his first season at Texas. He came to the Longhorns from Alabama with Sarkisian.
