William Poole III was a big part of Georgia’s defense in the games he was able to play in 2021.

The Georgia defense, of course, was the catalyst to the Bulldogs’ first national championship since 1980.

On Monday, Poole sent a cryptic tweet that simply said “Sept. 3”. But, it was quickly confirmed that the tweet means Poole is planning to return for his super-senior season in 2022:

Sept. 3 is, of course, the day the Bulldogs open their 2022 season against the Oregon Ducks in Atlanta.

In 2021, Poole appeared in 7 games, recording 14 tackles and breaking up 4 passes. We’ll see if he can work his way into a bigger role in 2022.
