Nay’Quan Wright, a veteran running back at Florida, has decided to look for a change of scenery after a season in which he rushed for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns in 7 games.

Wright, who battled an ankle injury in the spring and entering fall camp, shared on social media that he would enter the transfer portal with 2 seasons of eligibility remaining.

Wright opened the season as Florida’s starting running back, but the fourth-year sophomore saw the backfield turn into a committee approach alongside sophomore Montrell Johnson and freshman Trevor Etienne also occupying significant carries.

Here’s his social media announcement.

“I have forged unbreakable relationships, earned a degree from a Top-5 institution, all amongst living out my dream to play for the Gators,” Wright wrote in a statement released to Twitter. “I will forever be indebted to the many coaches, support staff, and countless individuals who have empowered, supported, and advocated for me along the way. My family deserves an endless amount of love and thanks for having my back through thick and thin, wins and losses, and everything in between. While my experience as a Gator has been invaluable, it is with a full heart and optimism for the future that I announce I will be entering the transfer portal as a graduate transfer this December with 2 years left to play college football.”
