Three games into the season, Missouri fans have to be more confident entering Saturday’s non-conference finale than they were before any other contest to date.

Indiana’s well-chronicled struggles aside, the unknown of replacing a number of key starters on both sides of the football has given way to growing confidence. The Tigers (3-0) have faced better competition and won by a higher margin each week, culminating in a 38-10 win against a UCF team that won the Fiesta Bowl in January.

Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk has completed 62.3 percent of his passes this season for 8.4 yards per attempt. He’s also thrown 23 touchdowns against five interceptions for his career. He’s not getting any serious consideration for national awards at this point, but that could change with a huge statistical game against IU.

Shane Ray and Markus Golden, too, are on an unsustainable pace in gathering sacks and tackles for loss. The Hoosiers offensive line is a decent group and a nice stepping stone for those two to work toward SEC play.

It should be a fun day for Mizzou fans.
