Video: Mizzou player ejected on controversial hit

Missouri defensive back Anthony Sherrils got ejected in the first quarter for kick catch interference after this hit on the Vanderbilt punt returner.

Twitter immediately buzzed about the play, which the officials upheld after a review, including several Missouri beat writers taking up for Sherrils.

Sherrills got his helmet across the player's chest and made contact with his shoulder. Officials blew the call and the review. Terrible.

Ruling stands, Sherrils is gone. That's just a crummy call. Clean hit. I like the rule, but not when it's enforced that badly.
