After finally recovering from the weekend in Nashville, I’d like to thank all the fans that I had the pleasure of running into up there.

It was the first time I’ve ever been to Nashville without the helmet and pads and I will definitely go back. The city was one of the coolest places I’ve ever been. Every single bar and restaurant in the city had awesome live music. I was asked to get on stage a few different times and sing a song.

Garcias are good at a lot of different things, but not singing. I saw some of the videos and they sounded pretty rough.

It was an awesome experience. I had the pleasure of talking with some really cool people. I believe a couple singing sessions took place at Tootsies and Honkey Tonk. If you’re ever in Nashville, I recommend those two spots for sure!

I flew up there with Gators fans so I did have to be somewhat of a Gators fan this weekend.

I’m lying. I totally rooted for Vandy. I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing Gator blue. The Gators fans were pretty tolerant. They are just great people and it was fun to experience a city like Nashville in their company.

We went to a lot of different places to eat and drink and I really can’t thank those guys enough. That said, I’m also still trying to recover from the trip. The beer and bourbon flows like honeydew vine water in Nashville.

The game was pretty awesome as well. I mean if you’re a Gators fan.

I must say that I am a fan of Vandy’s quarterback, Johnny McCray. That kid has an unbelievable story and I’m impressed with him as a quarterback too. He can sling it around nicely.

We were up in the Gators section for the most part and then a few of us meandered down to the end zone on the grassy berm. Vandy’s stadium really improved from when I last played there. It has a really cool vibe. The large video board, the small overall size and that grassy berm give the stadium an intimate feel.

For anyone who hasn’t been to Nashville, I’d encourage you to make the journey whether or not your team is in town to play against the Commodores. Go check out that stadium and catch a game.

The local brews they have on tap and the selection of bourbons up there were really impressive as well.

I’m looking forward to making that trip again in the very near future.

I guess I understand now why they call it Nashvegas.
