There weren’t many boneheaded plays last weekend.

There were some pretty bad passes. These throws aren’t boneheaded, as I think that they were the right reads, but the execution of both of these throws was brutal.

As much as I like the guy and think that he’s played well this entire season, I have to say that these passes were not the finest I’ve seen from Bo Wallace. When you see these two throws, you’ll have to agree.

These two picks changed the outcome of the game against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Wallace under-threw the 100-yard pick six and threw it way too far inside. That route requires a pass near the sideline and thrown with a lot more zip (depending on the leverage of the defensive back, of course).

The other red zone pick was also an awful throw. Again, Wallace made the right read. It’s just a terribly-thrown ball. It has to be thrown on time and out near the sideline. If Wallace threw it there, it’s an easy touchdown.

Even though he was late throwing it, he still could’ve gotten it to his receiver if he put a little more mustard on the pass. The defensive backs were licking their chops when they saw these passes floating in the air right to them.

I think Wallace has played very well this season with the exception of a few ill-advised passes. Interceptions happen when you’re a gunslinger like him. I had the same mentality at South Carolina.

As gunslingers, we trust our arm a little too much sometimes and forget our fundamentals. I can’t and will never blame a quarterback for having that confidence in his arm talent. However, these two throws had nothing to do with gunslinging. They were just flat out errant passes and it changed the momentum of the game, and ultimately the outcome.

The Arkansas defense has been underrated throughout the season, but Wallace gift-wrapped these two turnovers.
