Auburn has added a sixth player to its 2016 recruiting class.

Spanish Fort linebacker Tre Threat, 6-foot-2 and 235 pounds, announced his decision Thursday during a ceremony at his high school, The Montgomery Advertiser reported.

Threat, a four-star player according to Rivals, is a three-star consensus via the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Threat becomes the first linebacker in Auburn’s ’16 class, an important distinction considering the program will lose four scholarship players at the position, including two senior starters: Casanova McKinzy, Kris Frost, Justin Garrett and Kenny Flowers.

As a junior, Threat made 104 tackles, including 14 for loss and 4.5 sacks.
