After back-to-back SEC East division crowns, Missouri is looking for a three-peat.

However, things may get interesting this season having to replace a depleted defensive line and develop the quarterback, who has shown some regression over the last two seasons.

Nonetheless, folks have been questioning Mizzou since it came into the league, and the Tigers have answered those questions rather resoundingly.

Here are five predictions for Mizzou in 2015:

Kentrell Brothers will lead the SEC in tackles: He almost did it in 2014. Kentrell Brothers racked up 122 tackles last season, but he’ll finish first this season. As the leader of Mizzou’s defense, Brothers is one of the best tacklers in college football. With Brothers and Michael Scherer both returning, the Tigers could have the best tackling duo at linebacker in the country. Brothers has 206 career tackles entering his last season in Columbia.

Russell Hansbrough will rush for 1,200 yards: 2015 may be the Russell Hansbrough Show. Finally, we’ll get to see Hansbrough attack defenses and get many more touches in the backfield. He rushed for a team-high 1,084 yards on 205 carries with 10 touchdowns in 2014, averaging 5.3 yards per carry. Now that Marcus Murphy is gone, he’ll shoulder a bigger load and become the alpha male in the backfield. How will he handle it? He’ll top 1,200 yards in 2015.

Evan Boehm will emerge as the league’s best center: I have a man-crush on Evan Boehm, and I’m completely fine with it. The three-year starter has done nothing but prove himself year after year. He’s the anchor and leader of this unit, and he’ll emerge as the league’s best center by season’s end and become the first-team All-SEC performer. He’s started 40 consecutive games, and he’ll add to that number before heading off to the NFL.

Missouri won’t have the SEC’s Defensive Player of the Year: In back-to-back seasons, Missouri has produced the SEC’s Defensive Player of the Year: Michael Sam (2013) and Shane Ray (2014). Interestingly, two months ago, many would have voted defensive tackle Harold Brantley as one of the biggest candidates for the award. However, following his awful car wreck, Brantley’s impact likely won’t be felt this season. So, it will snap the impressive two-year streak. That’s not to say that a player like defensive lineman Charles Harris or linebacker Kentrell Brothers can’t win the award. After all, Sam came out of nowhere to win it in 2013. I don’t expect the defense to take a big step back, but it’s unlikely anyone on the unit will be hoisting this award for 2015.

November streak comes to an end: Missouri has enjoyed two incredible Novembers in a row, and it’s the biggest reason why the Tigers have won the SEC East in back-to-back seasons. With the division at stake in 2013, Missouri defeated Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Texas A&M — both the Rebels and Aggies were ranked — to win the division. The same thing in 2014: Mizzou beat Kentucky, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Arkansas to cap off the division championship. However, that streak will come to an end in 2015. The Tigers play Mississippi State, BYU, Tennessee and Arkansas during the final month. The good thing, however, is that only one of those games (Arkansas) is a true road game. BYU is a neutral site game. But that’s what Missouri wants, for me to doubt them, right?
