Dabo Swinney evaluates Clemson’s offensive performance vs. Stanford: ‘We left a lot out there’

Dabo Swinney saw his Clemson team put up 40 points against Stanford in another strong offensive outing, running their total to 165 points after being held to a field goal in the season opener against Georgia.
Still, the Tigers head coach felt the team could have had more than that.
“We left a lot out there. There was more there. Not as crisp or as precise as we have been,” Swinney said on Sunday, according to ClemsonSports.com.
Looking deeper, Clemson totaled 405 yards of offense. Cade Klubnik threw for 4 touchdowns but finished with 255 yards on 15-of-31 passing, 70 of those yards coming on one play. Klubnik did add a touchdown and 48 yards on the ground. Phil Mafah, meanwhile, had 10 carries for 58 yards as the Tigers had 150 yards on 30 attempts, but when taking his and Klubnik’s combined longest run of the day (60) out of the equation, that stat shrinks to 90 yards on 28 carries, a 3.2 yard per attempt average.
We’ll see if the Tigers can answer Swinney’s challenge in Week 6 as they travel to Florida State on Saturday.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says he liked how the offense played yesterday but it was still the "worst" showing by them the past three games — and that still included 40 points, so a good problem to have. "We left a lot out there … not as crisp and precise as we've been"
