2017 JUCO prospect announces decision to decommit from Alabama
It isn’t very often when recruits decide to renege on a commitment to Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide – especially a defensive back prospect with eyes set on playing in the NFL.
However, one of these instances unfolded on Saturday.
Junior college defensive back Jhavonte Dean announced on Twitter that he has decommitted from the program. He intends to play his college ball elsewhere:
— Florida Boy ☀️ (@Taydean12) January 21, 2017
A native of Florida, Dean had been playing at Blinn College in Texas – known mostly for being Cam Newton’s junior college. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound defensive back is said to have been clocked at 4.3 in the 40-yard dash. After taking trips to Arizona State and Miami, Dean decided to open things up.
Dean’s decision now leaves Alabama with 24 commitments from this current class. Based upon Saban’s proclivity for signing top-level prospects, the Crimson Tide will surely land a stud prospect to take Dean’s spot.
Thank you Jhavonte for this decomitt
Holy runon sentence Batman!
Run-on…….
That’s… not actually a run-on.
This was a mutual decision between the player and school….
Best for both. Probably better news for the Tide awaiting.

Bullshit
What is really going on with Bama’s powerful mystic? First your backup
Well it seems like the mystic of the powerful Bama regime is wearing thin within the organization, first the backup QB transfer and gets ridiculed by Nicky and then you guys lose OC Lane Kiffin to Florida Atlantic University rather than be OC of Alabama in the CFP. Then y’all go out and lose that Natty to Clemson and to top it off you lose the 2015 recruiter of the year OL Coach Mario Cristobal to Oregon and your AD steps down and now you lose a DB y’all were looking to contribute in 2017, of course you’re going to try and spin it but if it was someone else in the SEC West you guys would be happy as hell so forgive us if we are. It’s not over yet the prospects you are looking to commit on February 1st will not be you may get one or two maybe but not all and you’re going to lose the #1 ranked 2017 recruiting class.
What are you talking about? Coaches change. He moved to a higher position at Oregon and that’s great. Battle has been in bad health so why wouldn’t he step down? Yes Bama lost the NC game to Clemson but they still went 14-1 and didn’t lose to any team in conference. As far as a recruit decommitting so what? This happens every year even at Bama. I have a feeling Bama will be just fine….. What you should worry about is LSU. You don’t have a QB that can complete a pass over 5 yards. Your HC has not shown that he can lead a team to any kind of success and if you look at his time at Ole Miss you really should worry. LSU lost 4 teams and is currently behind multiple SEC teams in recruiting yet you’re worried about Bama…..
None of what you describe is going to keep Alabama from waxing LSU, as usual.
Coming from an LSU fan. Bwuhaha. 6 in a row and LSU will never get revenge for that 21-0 spanking in New Orleans. What a dumbass.
“Alabama cornerback commit Jhavonte Dean has also dropped down into the three-star range after his sophomore film didn’t quite match his measurables”
From 247 sports
Lol, he’s no good right?
I haven’t seen anyone say he is “no good”. I have also read that it was a decision made mutually between Bama and the recruit. Who knows. I wish him well with whatever he decides.
Because LSU has been a powerhouse? I bet Leonard Fournette wishes he went to bama so he didn’t was his talent getting beat on year in and year out. When you get College Playoff hype at the beginning of the year and end up losing 4 games that is what most would call an epic failure. Bama will be fine and always will be. I just think you wish you could say the same for LSU. Plus Nick loves taking your in state recruits. So thank you LSU, for failing to meet annual expectations year in and year out.
Dropped to a 3 star you say ? That’s going by 24/7 as well, right ?? Not a surprise at all, as it’s know that 24/7 sports gives players committed to Alabama what is called the Bama bump. That is in fact a true statement from the head of ESPN high school recruiting and former Georgia Tech QB Tom Lugnbill. It was also noted by Mr. Lugnbill that one of the head guys over 24/7 sports is also the owner of Bama online, so it’s not a coincidence that the kid dropped a star after decommitting from Alabama.
21-0 bothers us none at all, as a 9-6 spanking of Alabama by LSU in that same season allowed for LSU to be the SEC champions and also allowed for LSU to be awarded the 2011 national championship by more awarding outlets than how many awarded Alabama as their national champion for 2011, probably didn’t know that, right ?? Well it’s true and LSU’s head coach didn’t have to drop its closest competition for a spot in the BCS championship game that year like Ole Tricky Nicky got busted doing. Only a clown abuses his privilege as a voter to gain an unfair advantage over another program, kinda odd how Saban dropped Oklahoma St. on his coaches poll ballot during the week it would be used to help determine who would play in the BCS championship game, right ?? What’s even more odd about it is the fact that no other voter dropped Oklahoma St. that week, nobody beat Oklahoma St. that week nor did anybody play Oklahoma St. close that week. So why did ole Tricky Nicky drop Oklahoma St. that week on his coaches poll ballot?? We no one knows for certain simply because went Ole Tricky Nicky was asked about it by sports media members. Well in normal Saban fashion he just threw a fit about it and stormed off without ever giving an answer to the question. But the one thing that we do know is that it helped get his team in the BCS championship game over Oklahoma St. by the closest margin in the history of BCS between the #2 & 3 ranked teams, 0.0072 percentage points. Now most of the so-called in the know people in fact believe that Ole Tricky Nicky must have forgot that every voters last few ballots of the season would be made public for the first time starting with that season. But hey, brag away. Brag about having to have the first and only coach that has been busted dropping a team on his ballot because it benefited his by doing so, brag about being held to a lower standard that another team. As LSU was made to beat Alabama at their house and go 2-0 against them. While all Alabama was asked to do was just simply split games with LSU and go 1-1 against them and beat them at a neutral site. Don’t recall it taking LSU 2 games to beat Alabama that season, right ?? Don’t recall Alabama having 2 starters to get hurt playing in an extra game that LSU didn’t have to play in because they loss the regular season head to head game. As LSU had 2 starters to get hurt in the SEC championship game that were unable to play in the BCS championship game. Don’t recall LSU having an extra week to sit at home and rest, get healthy, game plan, practice & prepare to play Alabama like what Alabama was afforded because of losing the regular season head to head game against LSU, right ?? Don’t recall LSU being given the Advantage that Alabama was given by losing the first game that year, you know the fact that the winning team always stays pretty close to the game plan that was good enough to win the first game. That allows for the losing team from the first game to adjust and change schemes against what gave them problems in the first game. While having the advantage of changing from what they did in the first game scheme wise that didn’t work and wasn’t good enough to win the first game. So that means that the winner of the first game spends all of their practice time game planning, practicing & preparing for something that they’re not even gonna see from the other team in the game. That’s the reasoning in the Old saying about being very hard to beat the same team twice in the same season, quite the advantage for Alabama, right ?? Of course it was,and because of those reasons is why as I’ve said earlier, more awarding outlets awarded LSU as the 2011 than how many awarded Alabama with theirs. As the BCS championship game and just as the current CFP games are, it’s only a media based mythical championship game. The NCAA doesn’t even recognize the winning of them as an NCAA national champion. That’s also why way more than 1 source awards a mythical national championship in FBS football. Alabama scored 1 TD against LSU that season in 2 games plus an overtime, right ?
The number of top tier recruits that the state of Louisiana produces is amazing considering the size of the state. We can supply schools all across the country with talent, especially schools in state such as Alabama that aren’t known to consistently produce a great number of top tier recruits yearly. While still keeping enough of them at home that a school like Alabama has to have an assist from the refs to be able to score against LSU, right boys ?? What was it again, 3 obvious holds & 2 obvious blocks in the back on Alabama’s lone TD play against LSU this season?? Of course it was. Oh and brag about your little 6 in a row, as LSU drug Alabama’s ass up & down the field in the 2012 & 14 games. Only to let a piss poor coaching call by Miles & Chavis to cost them the game. As they went away from the defensive scheme that Alabama couldn’t move the ball against in the 2nd half of those games at all. It was only after LSU went to the prevent defense late in the 4th qt was Alabama able to move the ball and take the lead very late in 1 game and in overtime in the other. It also took Alabama 2 games in one season against LSU to even be able to start that 6 in a row streak. While LSU needed none of that for their, what was again?? 4 or 5 straight over Alabama just a couple of years before Alabama’s current streak over LSU, right ??
Those tears are flowing. You say 21-0 doesn’t matter but then went on a 1000 word crying rant. Nobody cares that the New Orleans sentinel awarded LSU the NC in 2011. Since you seem to have trouble with recalling things according to your post let me help you. LSU is the only team to be shutout in the BCS NCG……… Keep crying.
