A day after getting waived by the Baltimore Ravens, Tim Williams has a new team.

The former Alabama linebacker was claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. Williams, who was selected by the Ravens in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft, played for the Crimson Tide from 2013-16.

After joining the Ravens, Williams played in 15 games over his first two seasons, compiling 16 tackles and two sacks. This year, he had played in all four of Baltimore’s games but had only two tackles.

Williams is only 25, so there is plenty of time for him to make an impact in the NFL. His playing time had diminished with the Ravens, which could mean joining the Packers will give him better opportunities to get on the field.

After Baltimore lost pass rushers Terrell Suggs and Za’Darius Smith, Williams got more playing time in the beginning of the season, but he couldn’t capitalize on the increased role, which led to him not playing much the past two weeks.

Williams showed his potential while at Alabama, as he had 18 1/2 sacks over his final two seasons with the Crimson Tide.
