All AJ McCarron wanted this offseason was a chance to sign with a team where he could compete for the starting job.

Now, it appears his wish has come true, as the former Alabama star apparently agreed to a two-year contract with the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday night.

As you can see below, the Bills — who recently traded last year’s starter Tyrod Taylor to the Cleveland Browns — announced the signing on Twitter:

McCarron spent the first four years of his career backing up Andy Dalton in Cincinnati, where he threw for 920 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions in 11 career games.

The Bills may still sign another quarterback or draft one in April, but for now, it appears McCarron — who won three national championships at Alabama — will finally get the chance to start for an NFL team.
