Alabama AD Greg Byrne issues statement after testing positive for COVID
The sports world has been rocked by the news out of Tuscaloosa that Nick Saban and Greg Byrne have both tested positive for COVID-19.
Byrne, Saban and Alabama team doctors all released statements through UA.
“Today, I received notice that my COVID-19 test from this morning came back positive,” Byrne said in his statement. “Upon hearing the news, I immediately entered self-isolation and will remain at home and follow all guidelines. We’ve been diligent about mask wearing and social distancing from the start and want to continue to encourage you all to take the necessary precautions to help stop the spread of this virus for yourself and those around you.”
We join everyone in the SEC community in hoping for positive updates out of Alabama.
Watch them try to cancel.
Game ain’t happening.
They won’t cancel because saban can’t be there. Bama is not like that.
They have to meet the minimum player count put out by the conference to be able to play…
I’d be surprised if some players don’t come back positive too. LSU-Fla cancelled, Saturday’s game with Ga is probably in doubt. Hopefully we can still get the season in, but I know a lot of people had concerns it was possible before the season started.
Bama time…i know we have probably disagreed in past but in this crazy time I just want to see game played becuase we both believe in our teams. I hope what Trudy says is true and I would hope UGa is same way.
Well yeah, they won’t cancel because of the coach.. It will be about the number of players available.. If the players are ok the game will happen.
Yeah, so how is that mask wearing working out for you? Sheeple…
