Alabama assistant hired by Hugh Freeze at Liberty
The Alabama Crimson Tide have already lost a number of assistant coaches this month, and now the staff turnover will continue.
This time, it’s an Alabama grad assistant leaving for an on-field role with Hugh Freeze’s Liberty squad.
As you can see in the Twitter post below, Kyle Pope is leaving Tuscaloosa to become Freeze’s inside linebackers coach:
The last 2 years at The University of Alabama have been nothing short of amazing! I will always be beyond grateful for the opportunity to be able to work for arguably the best to ever do it and with some of the most amazing players and People #RTR #FLAMES #RiseWithUs pic.twitter.com/zDDZPLdjpj

Freeze welcomed Pope to the staff on Saturday afternoon, as you can see here:

Pope has spent the past two years on Nick Saban’s staff, working primarily with the defensive line. Now, he’ll work with another position group at Liberty.
Meanwhile, Saban has a lot of positions to fill on his coaching staff, so he’s going to have some big decisions to make soon.
