The past four football seasons, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers have met in the College Football Playoff — three of which were with a title on the line.

Now, both schools’ men’s basketball teams are on the NCAA Tournament bubble as Selection Sunday is just over a week away.

As things currently stand, ESPN bracketology expert Joe Lunardi has both the Tide and Tigers among his final four teams to make the field of 68. Naturally, that leads to them being projected to face off against one another in a First Four matchup in Dayton with a No. 12 seed in the East region on the line.

While this wouldn’t be nearly as impactful as the football matchups the schools have had the past four years, you can bet it would still be a big game for both fanbases.

A lot can change in the few days, with both teams playing their regular-season finales on Saturday and entering their conference tournaments next week. However, it would be a lot of fun to see them face off on the hardwood in the NCAA Tournament.
