While a certain player from the 2024 class is currently committed to Alabama, that won’t stop him from visiting with another SEC program. The only thing is that it’s one of the Crimson Tide’s rivals.

Perry Thompson is a 5-star WR from the 2024 class per the 247Sports Composite. He went on Twitter Sunday to announce that he will be visiting with Auburn during “Big Cat Weekend”.

The visit is officially scheduled for July 16. Thompson already visited with Alabama on Jun. 2.

The wideout is ranked No. 8 at his position and is the No. 5 recruit from his home state of Alabama. He comes in at 6-foot-3, 202 pounds.

Other SEC programs that have shown interest in Thompson so far include Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia.

If Auburn is able to flip Thompson from Alabama it would be a huge grab for Hugh Freeze’s first recruiting class as the Tigers’ HC.

The Tigers currently have 8 total commits from the 2024 class.

Six of those are 4-star commits, while two are 3-star commits. Thompson would be the first 5-star to commit to Freeze out of the 2024 class if the WR flips commitments.

Alabama has 10 commits from the 2024 class so far. The Crimson Tide have three 5-star commits, five 4-star commits, and two 3-star commits.
