Alabama commit elevated to 5-star prospect

Alabama now has 2 5-star commitments as of Wednesday when 247Sports updated its Composite Rankings.

Last week, 5-star offensive lineman JC Latham committed to Alabama and became the Tide’s lone 5-star commit. Thanks to the recent updates, wide receiver Jacorey Brooks was elevated to the status Wednesday.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound pass catcher is now ranked as the nation’s No. 2 overall wide receiver and the nation’s No. 27 overall prospect. The Miami, Florida, (Booker T. Washington High School) prospect committed to the Crimson Tide on May 8, 2020, over offers from around the country.

In fact, Alabama has 3 wide receivers from Florida committed for the class of 2021, with Brooks, 4-star Agiye Hall (Valrico) and Christian Leary (Orlando).

Given how talented Brooks is, he should see snaps early in his career at Alabama. The multi-talented prospect is just the latest in a long line of Florida receivers to commit to Alabama. Amari Cooper, Calvin Ridley and Jerry Jeudy are 3 that quickly come to mind.
