Alabama at LSU point spread has shifted since opening
Finally, the game all Alabama and LSU fans have been anticipating for weeks is upon us.
No. 1 Alabama will travel to No. 4 LSU Saturday for a night game in Death Valley in a game that will be broadcast nationally by CBS. The stakes are obviously big for both teams in this epic SEC West showdown.
For the Tide, this very well could be Alabama’s final true hurdle to finishing the regular season undefeated. For the Tigers, a win here would not only legitimize an incredible regular season run and likely vault LSU into the top 2 of the College Football Playoff rankings, but it would also destroy any narrative that Ed Orgeron isn’t the right man for the job in Baton Rouge.
When the line opened for this game, depending on which sportsbook you frequent, Alabama was listed as either a 14- or 14.5-point favorite on the road. Since opening on Sunday, the line has shifted down to 13.5-points in favor of the Crimson Tide. That slight shift suggests more money is coming in on LSU than Alabama and the sportsbooks are trying to adjust the amount being wagered on the Crimson Tide.
It’s still early in the week but it would appear the gambling public favors LSU with the points so far in this matchup.
