No. 1 seed Alabama cruised to a first-round NCAA Tournament victory on Thursday. The Crimson Tide took down No. 16 seed Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 96-75. UA advances to the Round of 32.

Crimson Tide superstar Brandon Miller was notably scoreless. Miller was 0-of-5 shooting from the floor. He played primarily in the first half.

Miller, who has dealt with a groin injury, logged 19 minutes in the game. He subbed out at the 14:34 mark in the second half and did not return. Miller’s box score was not completely empty, he contributed 5 rebounds and 3 assists while recording 3 personal fouls in the contest.

The Texas A&M-CC game should remind the college basketball world why Alabama is the No. 1 overall seed. Even without Miller, the Tide still scored nearly 100 points while making sure their starters stay rested. Nate Oats does not have to worry about any of his players being overworked going into Saturday. No Alabama player logged more than 21 minutes in the game.

Nick Pringle led the way with 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor. It was a double-double for Pringle with 15 rebounds in the game.

Mark Sears had 15 points, going 3-of-4 from behind the 3-point line. Jahvon Quinerly (13 points), Noah Clowney (10 points) and Nimari Burnett (11 points) made it 5 Tide players in double figures.

Alabama will face No. 8 seed Maryland in the Round of 32 on Saturday. The Terrapins defeated No. 9 seed West Virginia 67-65 on Thursday.
