Alabama freshman DB Scooby Carter was a 4-star player in the 2019 recruiting class, choosing the Crimson Tide over Texas A&M, Oklahoma and others.

This season, he’s appeared in one game, recording only a single tackle. Now, it appears his time in Tuscaloosa has come to an end.

On Monday afternoon, Carter took to Twitter to announce that he was entering his name in the NCAA transfer portal:

Carter was suspended for the Mississippi State game due to an academic issue, and his return for this week was questionable. Now, it appears he’ll explore his other options.

Per the 247Sports composite ratings, Carter was the No. 9 cornerback in the class of 2019 and the No. 15 overall recruit from the state of Texas.
